I noticed this on the grab it board, is it a good deal?
We are all using computers and have become dependent on them. So what happens when they fail and you lose everything on them? Answer - you have to have a backup. I saw this the hard way recently when my son's machine had to have the hard drive replaced and he lost everything on it!!
So I decided to buy Acronis True Image for my own machine because it copies the whole system not just my documents. I found a way of getting over 60% off the price, but this will only work until 12 December when the link/offer expires.
I got Acronis True Image (£39.95) + Acronis Disk Director Suite (£28.99) + unlimited repeat downloads (£3.99) = £72.93. What I paid was £26.53. Seems a small price for a year's worth of peace of mind - well it's worth it to me anyway.
If you are interested here are the steps to that discount:-
1) go to the VNUNET Acronis special offer page -
http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloa...rue-image-home
and use the "buy now" button
2) This will take you to the US Acronis page where the prices (in dollars) are already 10% - 15% cheaper than their UK site. It will automatically give you around 35% off the Acronis True Image US prices and will throw in a free copy of Disk Director Suite. (Since the software is to be downloaded anyway - it doesn't matter to me whether I get it from the US or UK.)
3) So you are already much better off than just going to the UK site and buying the same software there. But Acronis are really keen to get your business. So if it looks like you are leaving the site without buying, you get a pop-up window asking if you are leaving in error and offering you a further 10% off the prices you have already seen. Yes, please - I'll take that.
I have already downloaded and used the back-up software - it works fine. The Disk Director Suite is a bit too techie for me and I probably won't use it, but hey it was free so I took it in case I might need it or use it in future.
I hope some of you others manage to grab this temporary offer.
Good luck
