Virgin Not Changed To Minimum

They're simply not allowed to change the DD collection amount without giving you 10 working days notice, and the ONLY way they do this is via your monthly statement...which you had ALREADY received in November.
This, as I said earlier, is for your own protection and is clearly stated in the direct debit guarantee.0 -
They have had nearly two months to change the direct debit and like i said, from memory the last statement said £25.
Just to add, when I called them they said that they would refund the £22 but because my account is run so well the can't cheat the system by putting back on interest or charges as there are none. They said if I wrote in to the complaints department they would be able to issue the refund.regards

And to reitterate what you said here "I think you will find... means" it doesn't state, and unless you actually state something you can't expect people to assume. They would be the ones without a leg to stand on.regards

Pot, kettle, black.............as you have assumed you know how this works, but in reality it's quite clear that you've misunderstood what they've advised you or assumed otherwise.
Any particular reason why you won't put the content of the letter here ?
Maybe others are too polite to say but would it be because you're trying to save face perhaps ?0 -
So here's the letter, and the minimum monthly payment on my statements is £25.regards

EDIT: Actually, and thinking about it, how were the old statements laid out when you were making a static payment by DD? Did it show two figures, ie the minimum payment required AND the actual payment to be collected by DD. You probably won't remember (having shredded it/all of them?), but I'd be interested to hear if you can remember at all.0 -
On the statement it would say minimum payment £25 and then say fixed payment of £200 will be collected, but I don't have the last statement to check that one.regards

Whether it's right or wrong, you can't argue that the letter says they will be changing my DD to the minimum amount on my statement and this will happen on the 1st december.regards

BTW, rather than writing in to make a complaint, give customer loyalty a ring tomorrow (during extended office hours) on 0800 783 1116 and take it up with them.
Be warned though, they will have access* to the statement they sent you in November and if that says £200 will be collected it will weaken your argument.
Will Barclays mark your credit file with a '1' for using your 'reserve'?
* If you have online access you might wish to check first before calling them.0 -

) with you on.
For statements produced AFTER the 1st December. You'd already been informed of the DD amount to be collected over 3 weeks earlier (pound to a penny it says £200), and they're absolutely NOT allowed to change it once they've told you on your statement...for the reasons given in the DD guarantee (which exists for your protection).
Please come back and let us know what customer loyalty say tomorrow.0
