BT Overcharge!

I received my BT bill with an additional charge of £63 which is blatantly an error - 20 entries of the same item for a service I have not received (20 x 1 month for NetProtect subscription for December).

I have now spoken to at least EIGHT people several of whom have promised to get back to me. The last was definitely getting back to me today!

I am at my wits end. My bill is paid on time by direct debit each month and I would like their error rectified.

I have lodged online complaint for BT Click and Buy - my online account shows a balance of zero!! My BT bill shows £63

I would advise that you follow the complaint advise on the Ofcom website http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/landline/company/.

This will take you through the necessary steps that you should take before submitting a complaint via the Alternative Dispute Resolution (or ADR) scheme.

If you end up having to use the ADR scheme, BT can be forced to write off your debt and pay compensation if it is deemed that they have treated you unfairly. This will also reflect in BT’s complaint count at Ofcom.

Many thanks for that. I have AT LAST received a response from them. But boy have they been hard work. It's still not resolved but they are "working on it".
