Is There An Easy Way To Paint Over Waxed Pine Furniture?

Can anyone advise me on how to paint waxed furniture?
I've got a (waxed, I think) pine chest of drawers that i'd like to paint white. I think it's been waxed as the pine isn't in it's original state, and it definately doesn't have varnish on the surface.
Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to tackle it?
Thanks a lot.

Best to strip with Nitromors Paint and Varnish remover and wire wool to remove all wax prior to painting.
Once stripped apply shellac knotting to any knots in the wood, prime using an oil based primer, two undercoats and a coat of whatever sheen finish you require.0 -
I shall certainly give it a go! Thanks for the advice.:T0

The sluttish way is to forget any preparation and give it a coat of watered down emulsion firstWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
