Purchased watch online for £50. RRP £100. by well known sport / surf company.
After having the watch for about 8 weeks it froze. All functions stopped. I returned it to a high street store for the brand of watch and it was sent for repair under Warenty. There was an issue as the warrenty book had not be stamped by the supplier but i had a reciept which I copied and all seemed ok for a warrenty repair.
The watch came back after 3 weeks! I wore it that evening annd went swimming. Water got into the watch and functions afterwards would not respond. Once it dried out things seem to work but the face was foggy.
I have the details of the repairer and called them but they did not want to talk to customers. They only deal with shops! I spoke to the UK watch area distributer for this brand of watch and was asked to drop it back into the shop and she would see that it was repaired or replaced. I stressed I did not want to be without watch again for this period.
2 weeks latyer and no watch!
I am also concerned that even if repaired and sealed I have no gaurentee that they havn't damaged the watch. I have copies of the job sheets etc which say battery was replaced and that it has been returned with fogging of screen.
What do I do next?! I know they may argue re. the warrenty as I am not 100% sure it is one of the registered dealers although I do have a reciept. However the watch is damaged due to the Warrenty Repair! Water damage.
ANy ideas where I stand and what I should do next?
