Damage by pets

I notice that in my home/contents insurance, and the few others I've seen, exclude damage done by the family pet.
As I have a nice bouncy dog, I wonder if there is any cover out there I could get, just in case poochy jumps up and knocks the tv off the shelf!
I suppose I could always lie and claim I / The kids, had done it, but that would be dishonest.

I know of 2 policies:
Saga offer the cover as part of their most expensive policy. I think this is underwritten by London & Edinburgh, part of NU, so NU may also offer cover themselves. You have to be 50 or over to insure with Saga.
Lloyds TSB Premier Home Insurance. I think this is underwritten by Sterling, a high net worth insurer, so it could be expensive!!
The problem with trying to say "the kids did it" is that they are unlikely to wee on your sofa - can't say the same for the dog!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Actually the dog is less likely to wee on the sofa than my youngest is,
bit of a terror :rotfl:0
