Hi, 1st post so bear with me.
Having just bought a 30GB IPOD Video, I nearly got suckered into laying out extra for the accessories which you can get at grossly inflated costs from their official web site, various other affiliated web sites or even dixons, currys, comet etc. The accessories I was most interested in at this time was the connection cable from my IPOD to TV, connection to tape dec in the car and later connection to CD stereo in the car. Quotes for the TV connection ranged from £20 - £50 at the stores/sites mentioned above but if you look here at this web URL you can do it with a bog standard Camcorder connection cable, available for a couple of pounds on Ebay if you do a search on AV cable. Solution URL here:
http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2005/11/18/video-ipod.html.
With respect to the Car connections Tesco sell the cassette device for £3 or £4. all you do is connect the speaker wire into the top of your IPOD, insert the cassette and play through the IPOD, voila, sound in your car.
The CD connection is a little trickier since you either have to get an FM transmitter (illegal in the UK but can buy from ebay between £10-£50). I haven't seen all working but the best deal I seen of one that is, is the LCD ITRIP newly available for £20 plus P&P on ebay. If you dont want this it may be possible to connect your IPOD through the aux connector on most newer car radios, often you have to take this out and do away with the CD autochanger option though and you just then need the cable to plug in both to IPOD and the car stereo jack (standard two ended speaker jack)
Hope this helps
