New york to Vegas?

I'm going to Vegas via New York next Tuesday but my plane doesn't get in till 21.00, which I think is too late to get a connecting flight. This means I need a cheap place to stay for one night.
What are my best options for somewhere to stay, bearing in mind I want to get a flight the in the morning?
There seems little point in booking in to a cheap hostel in the city itself when any money I save on accomodation bills I will lose for transportation there and back. Does anyone know what the hotels around the airport charge and how best to get to them?
Also, what are the best low cost airlines that go between NY and Vegas?
Help greatly appreciated!

I think you will have to state which airport your arriving at and departing from..................I suspect your arrival will be JFK. Flights to the west are normally handled by Newark airport. If this is so.........there are plenty of low cost hotels right next to Newark.

I'd say Jet blue for fares between NYC and Las Vegas
Example fare here.

Look at http://www.cheapflights.com/Low-fare-airlines/
for other options.
As for accomodation I'd give Priceline a shot.
Info on how to bid for NY airport hotels is here

A quick look suggests about $50 + taxes would get you a room.
If you need help just ask..0 -
there is a 10:15pm JetBlue flight from JFK, probably cutting it fine though0

You could allways try and see wether it is viable to stay at the airport on the sofas! Not sure if this wil be possible nowadays but worth a go.

May not be worth going all the way into NYC for a hotel to just come back out the next morning possibly for an early morning flight as they journey into the city takes at least 1/2 hour (half).
have fun in Vegas**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0
