Thanks for this link - I haven't seen him making those before but I am going to try them as they look lovely, although I think I will leave out the chestnuts!Jane

I made these last night but am really disappointed in them. I don't think the puff pastry has cooked in the middle and all the filo pastry cracked off and left the pastry bit anyway. And the filo tore when gently pushing it into the bun tin.
Lovely idea, bad turn out! And I don't even like mince pies.0 -

I wondered about the puff pastry cooking in the middle, because sometimes if I make pinwheels the same thing happens. I think I will just stick to making traditional ones, or making ones with macaroon topping. The ones with the macaroon on top are lovely, but you have to use the almond macaroon not coconut, which would be really strange!Jane

He apparently did it last year and I found this link for the recipe too:

Happy cooking, I'll be giving it a try with my home-made mincemeat (far less sweet than shop-bought one, which I find sickening).0
