hi all, hope you can help.................i haven't sold anything on ebay for well over 3 years but i've decided to sell some things (items that should hopefully sell at high prices) question:-
if i was to sell a lot of things in one week and make a lot of money (say a couple of hundred quid
)) - would ebay/paypal say anthing??
do sellers have any limits etc on how much they can sell or make in money??
would be grateful for any replies - thank you!

Ebay don't have a limit but paypal have. Not sure what it is but its more than a couple of hundred quid.0

ebay PP wont have anything to say, but taxman might if you are selling items specifically bought to sell again. If you are just selling your own cr4p(sorry cherished items!) then your ok..good luck..and always use special delivery for high priced itemsTO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

if you havent used your paypal account regularly and suddenly accept a few hundred quid, ebay/paypal are 99% likely to use the old "we suspect fraud" excuse to freeze all your money in your paypal account while they "investigate" ... that "invetigation" could take 6 months.
ebay/paypal is rapidly looking like the worlds greatest ever long firm scam - its not jut me thinking that either! In the probably unlikely event that I actually post something of use to someone, an ickle vote of thanks would be much appreciated, in fact I might frame it and put it up on the wall next to my cycling proficiency certificate0 -

You are right there.... And forced in to offering Paypal now. When selling a high value item best to use them as a shop window until the right offer is made and you only pay the listing fees then and no final value fee. :T
Just sold a m/cycle, wanted £1000 started 99p 2nd phone call bloke offered 1k SOLD. List fees less than 50p.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
Thing is, you have to offer paypal. Many buyers choose this as it gives them protection. If you try to discourage buyers from using paypal they can report you and you get suspended. (Buyers have all the power on ebay) S'pose it depends what you are selling, if there's much to get rid of and if you are prepared to get banned.
On the money received front, I don't think ebay would bat an eyelid for £200 in a week, you can receive £1700 in a year and at around £300 they ask you to upgrade your account as you are close to £650. Which for some reason they insist is nearly £1700. If that happens you just have to ally a debit card if you wish to continue. Just go for it, they cant wring anymore out of you than is expressly noted in their rules. Which is enough really.

To be fair I understand the plus side to Paypal as I got caught recently I did not receive goods but was able to claim back over £140 so you can't have it all ways I suppose. Another thing sellers unable to leave neg for buyers is a nonsense as I recently sold an item that had to be collected and the buyer pulled out. He asked me where I was after bidding. Idiot.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0

Just be aware that Ebay can, and do, limit the amount of certain items you can sell in a given period of time.
They are currently stopping me selling various make-up items for another 30 days. When I access their link it appears this is to do with counterfeiting. Why I would bother counterfeiting something I'm selling for 99p I have no idea but they won't budge and I just have to wait. Would have made a killing as they make excellent stocking fillers so I'm not overly pleased with Ebay right now.
