Pimientos thread about shoetail has disappeared, and we never did find out if she received her boots for her elderly neighbour in the end,as a "sorry" for how she was spoken to.Pimiento, did the lady receive them,or have you received any other communication?Cant remember if it was on this board,or the warnings and rip- off board.

Can't imagine, seeing as the company apologised, and they must have meant their apology,or else why do it?0
-
But why would they apologise, then get the thread removed?.............
Can anyone think of a reason? Anyway hopefully Pimiento will reply soon.0 -
Increasing amount of censorship on this website I think,0

yes, i had a feeling it would be, but i would like to know why (ie on what grounds - i would have thought i was the only one had grounds to ask for some of the personal insult stuff to be removed?).
however i had saved the 4 web pages with 70 posts (after 2 had disappeared - there were 72), and i still have all the emails too.
in answer to hollydays, no the old lady has not received the 'apology boots'.
after a couple of days i had received no reply to my email asking to be kept informed of the progress of the boots, so i sent another pointing out i only posted on here that the situation had been resolved based on the telephone apology and agreement to send free boots to the old lady (i really didn't want anything for myself).
i finally got an email saying the boots will be posted next tuesday or wednesday as there is a stock problem because of the cold weather.
let's hope so.0 -
You are clever-I wouldn 't have known how how to save a thread-I must learn!!
Hope your Pensioner friend gets her boots. There must be some good to come out of this.0 -
i have just returned from a weekend away, and the boots have not been sent to the old lady.
having asked her if she would like some, this now puts me in a very embarrassing situation.
to recap (as the original thread has mysteriously disappeared) -
i posted on the warnings & rip-offs board after SHOeTAIL point blank refused to refund an (allegedly mistaken) overcharge on my debit card.
they didn't even apologise for it.
although the amount was very small, it was the final straw - their customer service attitude appeared to start from the position of 'the customer is always wrong', and go steadily downhill.
2 weeks after i posted on here about my experience, they contacted me to offer to refund the overcharge.
i declined, saying the moment had passed - as far as i was concerned my post on here 2 weeks previously was the end of the matter.
i received this email (i question their use of 'moan', but i had certainly stopped)
QUOTE FROM SHOeTAIL
I suggest you stop moaning. I almost believed you were genuinely disgruntled but it seems you are nothing more than a moaner. I feel sorry for your husband woman. Do you just nag and moan all day about everything from the weather to the people, to immigration to shopping, food, health. I know your type.
Glad we wont be dealing again. Post all you want on every forum you want - we couldnt care less. Stupid woman.
END QUOTE, but closely followed by this email
QUOTE FROM SHOeTAIL
An appropriate response has been posted on money saving expert.
BTW, thanks for the publicity, we have sold 3 pairs of boots which came as a direct referal from moneysavingexpert.
Your name should be dragged through the gutter you silly woman.
END QUOTE
so SHOeTAIL themselves resurrected my thread, and posted things on here that provoked a response from a number of people concerning their unprofessional behaviour.
finally they posted an apology, and promised some free boots.
as i wanted nothing more to do with them, but knew an old lady who would benefit from some warm winter boots, i asked that they be sent to her.
well the thread has been deleted, and the boots have not been sent.
i can only repeat my original personal opinion - i would not recommend anybody to deal with this company.0 -

They said they had dispatched them with royal mail, but I never received them. When I phoned them and spoke to a guy called Saf, he assured me they would send out another pair asap, as they must have been lost by Royal mail. After waiting two months I started a dispute via paypal. I then received an email from shoetail saying if I called off the dispute with paypal they would post the shoes out the next day. I am a trusting person and very foolishly called off the dispute. The guy called Saf said he was "a man of his word". I am now going to the small claims court to try and get my money back. This has taught me a very harsh lesson! Trust no one!!I do have all the "promise " emails from shoetail as evidence. This experience has left me with a very nasty taste in my mouth.
this should always ring alarm bells0 -
Apologies to Shoetail. My shoes had been delivered....only to the wrong house in my street!! Shoetail sent me proof of delivery, they had sent them to the wrong number and my neighbour had signed for them but had not thought to bring them round to me. They had kept them untill I knocked their door asking for them. My faith in human nature has well and truly been restored. Sorry Shoetail.(not impressed with my neighbour tho!)0
