Saturday 6/12/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D



Today I will:

• check online banking
• move some spare cash to savings
• make a loaf in breadmaker
• add some coins to sealed pot
• swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership - if have time:rolleyes:
• use free £5 voucher at whsmiths to get money off book for my dad.
• Clean house with stardrops and microfibre cloths
• write out xmas cards and post some abroad while still time

Cold again here today, stripey socks and boots for me today, OH doing laundry hokey cokey, I will be cleaning flat, that should be the housework done for the next week;)

Heating not on yet.
lots of housework,that will keep me warm

out tonight,but everything has already been paid in advance,so its like a free night!!

It took me ages to get on then site today, boo! Hope everyone OK....its Saturday, whoop whoop!:j

Here is my list for today:

• Check online banking
• Have a browse of the forums for a hour or so (whilst on the sofa with a bacon roll...I love saturday mornings!)
• Wash dining room chair covers (This has been on my list several times - I must get it done today)
• Visit friend and her little 'un at lunchtime
• Use what little petrol I have left carefully - don't want to have to fill up again until monday
• Free lunch over there
• Not spend any money until this evening
• Going out on the town tonight with a friend - have a strict budget for this and her DH is picking us up when we want to go home as he is a shift worker - so excited!

Today I am working.....boo hooooo......
But I do have to do a mystery shop at a sandwich shop - so that's lunch sorted and paid for...!
No heating today as I won't be here
Dog walked (no gym membership again!)
Washing on the line
And I've got someone from freecycle coming to dig up a bush in my garden, so that saves me paying my brother (gardener) to do it for me..!!

-Checked online banking and made small overpayment to CC

Today I will:

-Have a low spend day - need to get some basics in Asda
-Keep the heating off as much as possible but it's soooo cold!!!
-Do any surveys that come on
-Start organising Christmas pressies and wrapping them (with papaer bought in Jan sales ) to see what I still need to get
-HM soup for lunch
-Going to friends for dinner tonight

Hi everyone, I am
- going on a meet up witth some friends from our car club thingy, hopefully OH will put petrol in and I will buy coffees
- babysitter tonight so taking advantage and going out on town, drinking beer as its cheaper than spirits as it lasts longer
- get taxi back on meter, always cheaper than prearranged fares
- I WILL do some laundry (otherwsie wear dirty clothes this week, laundry monster has attacked)
- that will be it for me I think today, not the best MSE day but am looking forward to it

Back from work (for now ) back again later for yet another xmas party
popped into woolies to see if anything was left, may go back tommorow as spotted something but obviously didnt go up there with any cash to stop impulse buying today.

Have joined up for the bbc audio comp which was inside matterbox.
have downloaded 50p off voucher from matterbox spirits offer
just about to do a survey ,,,,,,,only one today so far.

Morning girls & boys

Today I am/have:

Going out for the day (seaside) so taking a packed lunch rather than buying expensive and fattening chips (drool drool).
Not having the heating on.
Washing clothes and hanging them on the line, tis a beautiful day here.
Getting my dusty old Reebok step out of the loft and using that for 30 mins later on, free exercise.
Writing out my diet plan with info off the net, rather than joining and paying for a club.
Drinking lots of water (to help weight loss) will save me putting the kettle on every three minutes.
Wrapping some Christmas presents tonight, instead of going out on the razzle.
Having a NSD.

Clear out the clutter and sort in charity bag stuff
Wrap christmas pressies - most of the bought throughout the year saving me lots of pennies
Find any loose change to put in my sealed pot
Check online banking and pay some off my CC
chill a bottle of wine for tonight - bought on offer at half the price:D

I am a bit hungover today!

-Only spent £5 when out last night as used weekly bus ticket to get home and only bought 2 drinks for £1.50 each!
-Havent put the heating on yet as just got up
-Wont buy anything today, working tonight so will use weekly bus pass to get there and we get a free taxi home. working til 2am tho on a hangover .
-won 20p on daily scratchcard
-doing dooyoo ratings/review
-slice the pie whilst im on the internet
-checked online banking
-store cupboard lunch/dinner and OH took lunch/drink to work with him
