its notoriously difficult to find discounts for RI but the sale certainly helps!! Just a little warning though - steer away from any jewel embossed watches. I bought one and a week later 4 of the stones had fallen out!! oops!

    they dont do discount codes.

only sale and 'star buy' stuff. they only just started doin online sale last year i think.
  • River Island don't give any type of discounts, not even student. No 10% or free delivery. (I luckily get an alright staff one). Their sales are good though. Footwear in store started today 22nd. Clothes/ accessories start on Friday 26th.
You're better off getting all your sale stuff on line now as the stores are beyond a joke come the boxing day sale. Last yr customers were literally shoving me out the way 'outside' the shop and i was only trying to get into work!

Thanks, shevfiesty. I took the advice on this thread and looked online for the first time at the RI website. I got a lovely jacket, skirt and bag for £70 total (half price, basically).

I live in Central/West London and cannot face the nightmare of the Marble Arch branch again _pale_ so thanks for the advice.

    Totally agree!

Two years ago I did boxing day at RI (working) the que was at one point an hour and a half wait- I knew this as some of my collegues watched people que and timed them- you would have thought, ok, kind of long, but our store is quite out of the way- there were days we only had 6 customers all day- and that includes browsing!

If you are going in on boxing day, preplan what you want, try it on in the days before hand- as the changing rooms arent normally open, and don't set up to meet for lunch/coffee with anyone, you just wont make it! LOL!
