Nintendo Wii Power Supply

I was hoping one of you could help me out (seemed more a techie than shopping query).
I bought a Nintendo Wii in Germany in January 2007. I've managed with a adapter so far but the power cable doesn't fit in to it properly and occasionally slips out cutting power to the console which is annoying when half way through a cup on mario kart
I thought rather than just buying another adapter and hoping that it isn't a problem it would make sense to buy a new UK based power supply. Obviously you can pick them up for not too much on ebay etc but given recent advice from HMRC- http://nds.coi.gov.uk/Content/Detail.asp?ReleaseID=386594&NewsAreaID=2- I'm concerned that i will buying a dodgy one.
Does anyone have any advice on which ones are ok or any other ideas?
Thanks.

You get what you pay for.
This one looks genuine, and the seller has excellent feedback.
Most of the rest on Ebay appear to be third party clones.0 -
be cheaper to just buy a better quality adapter.
we did the same as you, but bought a good quality adapter and have had no problems with it sliding out and cutting power whatsoever.
although, if you have the cash spare, I suppose a uk ps is the better option."If you really want to hurt your parents and you don't have nerve enough to be homosexual, the least you can do is go into the arts."0 -
Do you mean that you use an adapter to allow you to plug the euro mains plug into a uk wall socket ?
If so, you don't need to go to that trouble. Cut off the euro plug and simply put on a uk 13A plug instead.
My son got a Wii from Germany December 07 and that's exactly what I did with no problems at all

Thanks you all for your replies. In the end I came across a "visitor to the UK" adapter in Tesco that is working perfectly know. Alas I probably would end up doing it wrong if I tried to add a UK plug to the German one
