I've just noticed that Issue 2 now has Gross p.a/AER interest rate of 5.15% until 30/03/07 which includes a fixed bonus of 0.90%. Up until last week the bonus was only payable until 30/06/07. With the rate extended (applicable to new and current issue 2 savers) this is now one of the best short to mid-term savings accounts on the market at the moment.

Issue 1 account holders have simultaneously been hit with a 0.25% drop in rates.
The time has come to convert to Issue 2. I didn't want to, because Issue 2 is better for the introductory period only, but with a 15-month introductory period it's worth it.0
