XP profile won't load

Hi,
I am having trouble with one of the computers here. It won't load the users profile. I get this message: -
''Windows cannot load your profile because it may be corrupt, please contact your administrator'' then it goes on to say '' Windows is logging you in with a temporary profile, any changes made will not be saved''
I have tried removing the user and deleting the profile and then recreating it but it still does the same. It does it with any user including the administrator.
Any ideas what else I can try ?

Is this business or personal? Roaming or local profiles in use?
If personal then at a guess without even googling it would be default user profile. Rename this and copy from another XP box.
If it's roaming, rename the profile on whichever server / filer it sits on, do the same with the local copy, get the user to log in then log off and this'll trigger the profile to be copied back over the network.0 -
It is business. Not a roaming profile.
Everytime you log on it creates a new profile without event attempting to load the one that exists. I have tried Googling for a fix but nothing. Experts Exchange have a possible answer but I am not a subscriber: -

I will try your idea of copying the default from another box but.0 -

Sounds like the local profile has become corrupt and they're logging in with a temp profile, named either temp or maybe temp.001, temp.002 etc.
Hopefully renaming the current default profile and copying across another should resolve it. Event logs show anything useful?0 -

Not for me
I'd rather do it the old school way and copy across what I or the end user wants from the old profile using good old windows explorer.0 -

I believe doing it that way is linked to in the article.0 -
I will give these a shot after dinner. I left the computer on so I can remote access it.0

Will have to complete it when back in office. Cannot do it all remotely. I will post back then.0
