My Barclay card is comming to the end of the 14 month 0% so rang up for the Abbey Zero and they were very obliguing etc.
Then the dreaded words, 'Sorry you haven't been succesful this time'.
So I got out the application Halifax sent me, which I mentioned in the other thread and applied on line, and yes you guessed it 'Sorry you haven't been succesful this time'
No explanation from Abbey but Halifax gave the following reason:
The information you have provided indicates that the level of credit that you are currently commited to, in relation to your stated income, is higher than our present lending criteria allows.
Seems a bit weak considering I have managed to service the debt when it was higher and have never missed a payment and they sent me the application.
Oh well, good things always come to an end.:o
P.S I bank with A&L, Is it worth trying with them again as that is where the Barclays BT came from, then I closed it. They can only say no... What you reckon?

Have you checked your credit reports lately? This after all is the information UK lenders see when you apply for a new credit card. (For tips, see the *How to obtain credit reports* sticky.)
Might be an idea to make certain the card accounts you've cancelled recently are actually closed down and marked settled on file, for instance.I bank with A&L. Is it worth trying with them again, as that is where the Barclays BT came from, then I closed it?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
