Today in Exe Vale, Exeter, I got the Braun Multiquick MR 4050 HC Hand Blender. There was an out of date (18/04/06) Yellow SEL for £10 off, giving the price as £19.97 for 'Braun Hand Blender MR 4050'. There was also a white SEL for £29.97 right next to it with 'Braun Hand Blender MR 4050 HC' written on it. Anyway, there was only one blender there and I decided to chance it and it went through the till at £29.97. I was then quite prepared for the fact that customer services might claim that the HC was a different model, so the yellow label didn't apply to it. As it turned out, I showed the Customer Services Assistant the yellow label and she was perfectly happy. Back at the desk, she said 'it's your lucky day' and explained that I would get a full refund and keep the blender. She did however say that since I got it for free, I couldn't return it, but then again, she didn't write anything on the receipt. She also got me to give my name and address.

Yesterday, I also got two 400g blocks of Farmers' Best Mild Cheese. In this case there was an out of date yellow SEL saying £1 off - now £1.59, lying on some cheese on the shelf below. I resisted the temptation to put the label back where it should have been and got a full refund of £5.18 no problem. There was some speculation that somebody must have picked it off the floor and put it back when it wasn't supposed to be there, but no suggestion of impropriety on my part.

Haven't looked to see if this has already been posted but noticed today in Tesco Crawley that their medium free range eggs (box of 10) has two prices on the shelf - one for for £1.24 for 10 and one for 83p for 10. Queried which it should be and helpful member of staff said it should be 83p and to make sure it went through at checkout as that price. Of course it went through at the higher price - beware! They were very apologetic!

Tescos own medium free range eggs, half dozen box, large price on the bin 82p, very small SEL was mixed up with all the others saying 84p, scanned at 84p, R & Rd but big lable removed. Worth looking out for as guess the price has just changed.
