hey guys. back in june i had a car accident and it was my fault. i phoned my insurance company straight away and went through everything with them, gave them the other driver's details etc. they gave me info on what to do if i wanted to claim to get my car fixed. i have a £500 excess which i can't afford to pay and my car is still driveable so i never did it. i haven't heard anything from them since. i'm now starting to worry that i'm going to end up with a bill for £500 as the other person would have claimed on my insurance?? i really don't know how this works! do you only pay your excess if you claim to get your own car fixed? or do you pay it even if you don't but the other person does? hope this makes sense...

You only pay the excess if you go ahead with claiming for your own vehicle repairs, you do not need to pay it if the other party claims.0

You will if the third party has claimed against you.0

yes unless you have protected no claims, best checking with your broker how it will affect your policy exactly...0
