Raging at PC World!!

I ordered an Asus Eeepc 900 from PC World - paying the higher price of £234.87 instead of £185.94 as I specifically wanted a Windows OS as some of the programs my hubby uses are not Linux compatible.
Well it eventually turned up today (after some issues with DHL which are a whole other rant!) and they've sent me one with Linux.
When I phoned I was told that Asus don't make this model with Windows (they do) and it was an error on the PC World website and it should state Linux as the OS.
So why is it on your website with 2 different prices for the 2 different OS's I asked - funnily enough they couldn't answer that one!
So now I have to wait for them to collect it (DHL again - oh joy) and then wait for them to refund my card before I can buy it elsewhere as I can't afford to put 2 payments on the card while I wait for the refund!!

Pricing is a decision that the company makes. They do not have to justify their prices to consumers as consumers will vote with the wallets.
But the warehouse error is a bit silly. Did you buy online?0 -
OP iss not moaning about the price, OP is moaning about incompenency and trying to fob them off with a lower priced different model instead of the one orderedIf my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0

Why not try expansys.com next time - a very good company in my opinion! Might be cheaper too, check them out (and no I don't work for them!!)0

Look on it as a positive it will be cheaper after Christmas :rudolf:"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

If its mail order then Distance Selling regs allow for up to 30 days for you to return goods. But... since its their mess up you could write a RD letter to the head office asking for a quicker refund since it was their breach of contract. May speed things up.
I love my EEPC900 fits in my handbag, got mine with Linux installed. We borrowed a USB cd rom to install XP ourselves. Not sure how common XP ready EEPCs are to come by.
I noticed Morrisons were doing a when its gone its gone type deal about 2 weeks ago, but cant recall for how much or which version.0
