Laptop Advice

I'd appreciate any advice on this.
My son (14) has been saving for a year to buy himself a laptop. With the money we will give him for xmas he will have about £700, and I have said we will give it to him early so he can buy one and open it on xmas day.
As he's been saving so long and hard for it, I want to help him choose the right one. Like most 14 year olds he wants it for playing games, but obviously wont be able to afford one of the astronomically priced *gaming* laptops.
We were looking at this one with him - it has 3gb ram and 512mb dedicated video ram, and looks to be the best buy for him at the mo.

What do people think? Any better suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks

P.S. - He does know all the arguments re a desktop would be better value and upgradeable, but he wants a laptop he can take to his dads and his friends house.

I would look on the internet for other prices/specs. PC World tend to be so much more expensive than others.
Have you tried dell/hp site?“Hardware: The parts of a computer system that can be thrown out of the nearest window!”0 -

I recently bought a laptop from staples an HP dv6700ea limited edition it plays most of the top games easily as it has a dedicated graphics card an 8400GS. I got it in Staples who are by far much better priced than pc world. In staples the laptop i got cost £503 in pc world it was £699!!! They even have loads of offers on so if you buy a lappy you get loads of stuff thrown in free to.
