Grattan have just done me.

I bought an item that was a special price from Grattan a couple of years ago. That was the only reason I had an account with them. Anyway, for one reason or another, I ended up overpaying and my account was in credit by £15.
I never bought anything else and I was happy to just leave the credit sat there, I figured I'd find something to use it on one day.
Anyway, I logged into my account recently and the balance is £0. I emailed to query this and was told they have no record of a £15 credit and I need to send them proof and they will re-credit me. (Needless to say I don't have proof.) The only slight help I might have is that the credit showed up on my Experian file a few months ago and I printed out the report and filed it in a safe place  . If I ever find it again, I'll be able to date the credit better.
Granted, the account hasn't been used for around 18 months but I still did log in from time to time and at no point was I told the account was dormant or anything.
I'm not going to wind myself up about this as it's 'only' £15 and it's not worth adding to my stress levels at the moment to fight this but I thought I'd post in case others have old catalogue accounts that are in credit. Worth keeping an eye on, going by this.
