Might be a long shot, but any help appreciated. What I'm after is the HTML code (in raw .txt format) for a the most simple of simple websites, as I don't have access to a HTML editor. What I'm after is just a black background, with a .jpg image in the centre, and a single line of text underneath. I can happily add images and titles myself, and sort out text sizing/colour/fonts, but if anyone could provide me with this framework (black baground and image in the centre) it'd be massively appreciated.

Word or the OpenOffice equivalent can do that for you.
You just set it up like a word document then save as *.HTMLLaters

Word also comes with some webpage templates preinstalled. They have some rather dated ones with coloured themes/graphics and also ones that are just plain text.If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

Don't forget that old workhorse 'Notepad', just as good.
Also find a web page you like, select View Source from menu, cut and paste then edit in notepad0 -
This should do the trick:
<html> <head> <style type="text/css"> body {text-align: center; background: #000000; color: #FFFFFF} img {left: auto; right: auto; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; padding:0px} </style> </head> <body> <img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/5b/Turing_machine_example_3_state_busy_beaver.JPG/900px-Turing_machine_example_3_state_busy_beaver.JPG"> <p>This is the line of text.</p> </body> </html>0 -
Thanks people, appreciated!0

I use notepad++ quite a bit when just needing to do simple coding/editing.

You could always use an external CSS style sheet, although it won't make much difference on such a simple site0
