Had a look at W H Smith, to check on the status of an order and this came up on the gaming page. www.whsmith.co.uk/Games.aspx

A Message To Our Gaming & PC Customers

We are temporarily experiencing some supply problems with DVDs, CDs and Gaming products at WHSmith.co.uk, however we expect to offer the key chart lines by the end of the week. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be assured that our other product categories are unaffected and available for Christmas delivery. We are seeking to fulfil outstanding orders for DVDs, CDs or Games. If you have an outstanding order for these products we will contact you shortly. Our High Street stores continue to have a good supply of Entertainment products. To find you nearest store, please click here.

Hope they manage to sort it out, as I expect they have had quite a few orders due to the recent 20% off promo. Mine was one of them :(

This will be down to the fact the got supplied by EUK, which because is part of woolies, is not trading at the moment, HTH Dave

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. UPDATE...

I rang WH Smiths on saturday (after holding for over 30 mins), the girl could'nt say whether i'll get my dvd or not, and if it does'nt arrive i might not even get a refund, they don't answer their e mails, and their phone service is awful.

Is anybody else struggling with getting an order from W H Smiths?

I agree, but the girl on the phone could not guarantee me a refund, she would only say that she would like to think W H Smiths would do the honourable thing and refund people....

Have you actually paid for it?
I had an issue with zavvi a couple of weeks ago where I ordered 2 items, 1 I got straight away, they other was delayed so in the end I cancelled it and bought it elsewhere, I kept checking my bank acc and no moey was refunded (till I actually checked back properly to get all info ready to mail them and complain, when I discovered they'd actually only taken money when items where dispatched)

Yes they took the money out of my account a couple of days after i ordered, i think it was ready to be despatched but the supplier put a block on all the orders, thats what the girl told me anyway.
  • I've got the same problem with W H Smith. Two items that were apparently despatched from W H Smith Jersey a fortnight ago (1 Cd and 1 DVD for my wife's birthday which is today) and 1 which is awaiting stock. You can't use the on-line form to contact them, e-mails are not being answered and you sit on the phone for ages with no-one answering.
