my mate has made me a compilation, mostly wma's (that he had for his mp3 player) and a few mp3s.
trouble is- of the 60-odd songs on the compilation- i can play 7 mp3s on my dvd players and thats it
my computer is running too slow for me to rum windows media properly, and they would be at too high a bitrate to go on my 256mb mp3.
am i going to be able to buy a cheap dvd player or personal cd player that will play them (wma files) or am i asking too much?

I think that your DVD player will only play MP3 and not WMA, Aldi or Lidl have had some offers of personal CD/MP3 players quite cheap. Not sure if that includes WMA.
Why not convert from WMA to MP3 at a lower bitrate and play them on your mp3 player.0 -
