Sorry if there is already an answer to this question on the forum, I have looked.. maybe someone will be able to direct me to some help. I am currently using a utility room off the garage as a study. It is, as you can imagine, freezing! I am looking for a small heater that I can switch on when I am in there and which will heat up quickly. Any recommendations? Thanks folks.

A Gas heater would give you instant heat but I dont know how much the outlay would be , if you use this room a lot would it be an option to get it added to the centeral heating system then you could just turn the radiator on when your in there ?
Also have you looked at draft exclusion / insulation board the floor ? insulating the walls etc? other wise the heat you add may just be escaping baking it less efficiantIf it doesnt pay rent sell it.

I think the fastest heat and cheapest outlay would be an electric fan heater. Of course the downside is the running cost, it depends how long you want to stay out there. There's a selection under £10 in Argos, one would solve your immediate problem whilst you cost out whether to invest in an alternative.0
