Why is the money other peoples?
Who are you claiming this money from? Housing benefit? or some charity?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've looked on their website and I can't see any mention of a rent reduction other than claiming housing benefit. Maybe the drop in income when you were sick meant you were entitled to housing benefit and gentoo helped you process the application. It maybe that gentoo are waiting for the HB to be paid to them so that they can then refund you the rent paid.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My first post asked questions to help me understand OP's post.
Then I spent time looking at the gentoo website.
Then I gave a possible explaination for the delay.

I can't believe how unsympathetic and stroppy so many replies are on this otherwise brilliant site - most ppl i know who are in debt are in that situation NOT because they want a 'free ride' - by definition we are life's 'payers' - if we didn't hold down regular jobs we would never have got the credit that we used to get into debt. The purveyors of consumer debt make billions of pounds out of the desire we succumb to in buying overpriced consumer baubles, which are over-marketed to prey on our susceptibilities. The fat cat businessmen that we wage-slave for treat us as gullible idiots because we work for 'the national wage' (i.e. what should beabsolute MINIMUM wage, whilst loafers and greedy politicians get a free ride. Let's just be a lot kinder to each other. We are one of the most over-taxed and ripped-off societies in the world; Why is a UK-made, branded product dearer to buy in our own High Street than abroad where 'our' manufacturer has to pay transportation expenses and other export costs. Why do we allow government to pay plcs to extort tax money to take a profit from what should be our national institutions? Come on folks - if you can't give positive advice and help to other sufferers of our increasingly third-word country then please go to site more appropriate to rich-list wannabes than a great site set up to champion ordinary people's struggle for basic existence.0

Silvercar wasn't in the least bit unsympathetic or stroppy, merely asked for clarification and then checked out the details on the Housing Association site for the OP. That is being nice and helpful.

Have you posted on the wrong thread by any chance?0 -
I've seen no stroppy replies, simply requests for further clarification as the original posting wasn't coherent enough for anybody to answer.savvy_saver_yeh_right wrote: »I can't believe how unsympathetic and stroppy so many replies are on this otherwise brilliant site0 -

I recommend reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakunin
To repeat, Silvercar was being helpful.
If you want to plan a fair society in which the politicians are accountable and the fat cats are skinned from time to time this isn't the place for it.
I'm being a bit unsympathetic and stroppy but not with the OP."Gold is the money of kings; silver is the money of gentlemen; barter is the money of peasants; but debt is the money of slaves." - Norm Franz0
