Any home phone have a pin number protection to make a call?

After having a major phone bill due to a teenage lovestruck son, am wondering if any phones out there allow you to set a pin that needs to be entered befora a call can be made?

Need new phones anyway so now is a good time.

Tried seeing if there was a block type thing with talktalk but apparently not...

TIA.

    My Panasonic has this feature:

    Setting call restriction

You can restrict selected handsets from
dialling certain numbers. You can assign up
to 6 phone numbers to be restricted, and
select which handsets will be restricted.
Storing area codes here will prevent the
restricted handsets from dialling any phone
    number in that area code.

I assume they are calls to mobiles? Talk Talk wil set up blocks to mobiles for free. I got Talk Talk to block calls to international and premium rate numbers too.

If I want to call mobiles I either use the free minutes on my mobile phone or use an indirect service provider (IDA). I also use IDA to call international numbers.

If your son is running up a huge bill on calling landline numbers why not get unlimited landline calls? Or do you have that already? Remember though the maximum length of call is 70 minutes before you start getting charged!

Make sure your mobile is pin-protected so your son cannot use that!

And remember that teenagers are very aware these days and cordless phones which need a PIN to make calls are easily defeated when they're unplugged and a £2.86 corded phone from Argos is plugged in instead.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
