ipod shuffle

Options
Hi can anyone help?
have a shuffle which was purchased early april last year.
Use it about twice a week when out jogging/ at the gym.
Tried to update the playlist on it on friday, but had to reinstall the software as wouldn't work first off. Then once sorted that after about 3 hours and done a new playlist it did not transfer to the ipod despite the computer indicating otherwise. I know the playlist is alright on the cpmputer as I have played several of the tracks on it. However I have tried to transfer it to the shuffle without sucess, despite having reset it several times. There website doesn't seem to provide a solution either.
Has anyone got any ideas or should I try and take it back?
Cheers for any help in advance.

I didn't think the Shuffle did playlists?!?! Thought it just played whatever you have on there sequentially. I dont use them anyway.

I don't like using iTunes. In fact there's a 12kb app you can put on your Shuffle. That way you plug it in, drag n drop the mp3's via Windows Explorer, then run the app and it updates everything for you. Means it runs like it should, a usb mp3 player and you can take it anywhere (don't need to have iTunes installed).

thanks for your help wolfman but that seems almost as much hassle as dragging and dropping the stuff into the playlist on the shuffle

    Ping,

What are your iPod settings in iTunes Preferences Pane? There might be a clue there.
