Can somebody please clarify whether both parties to a jointly held Tesco Internet Saver account have to register whenever a withdrawal or other transaction is being made. The answer below on their website is a little unclear. Does it mean that both parties have to register when opening the account and then either individual can operate the account once it's up and running or both have to register ever time a transaction is undertaken?
Can you open a joint internet saver account?
Answer:
Both parties to a joint account will receive individual, passwords and security related details. Please note, both parties require to register for the online banking service before either party can access the account.

OH and I hold a joint Tesco account.
For either of us to use the account we each have our own different customer number, security number and password. We each have our own card and PIN so that we can each add payees.
When I log in I use my own security details and customer number. OH logs in with his own.
I have set up my own set of payees which he cannot access under his log in details. OH has set up his own set of payees which I cannot access under my log in details.
If I want to make a payment to one of my payees, that is fine as long as I have used my own log in details. OH can make a payment to one of his payees providing he has used his own log in details.
So you both register (you only register once) but either of you can make a transaction at any time without the need of the other person being involved. But only to the payees you have set up under your own log in details.
I hope I've understood your question correctly and that my answer makes sense (and after reading it again I'm beginning to doubt it :rotfl: .0 -
Tom'sMom - thank you for your detailed answer. You have correctly understood my query as I was uncertain whether we both needed to log on every time we wanted to complete a transaction. Now I understand that you only both have to register once when you set up the account.0
