Low energy bulbs - screw fitting

Can you get low energy light bulbs with a screw fitting ( rather than a bayonet?) We have two lights in a skylight above the stairs and as the lights are left on a lot it would save money + energy if we could use low energy ones, but we can't find any that go in the fitting. Alternatively, is there a simple way to convert the screw fittings to bayonet ones ( something we could do ourselves rather than get an electrician in). I had thought some kind of adapter might exist, but again, can't seem to see one anywhere. Any tips and where to buy bulbs/fitting adapters would be much appreciated! TIA

You can get them - I have just found a couple in a drawer downstairs! Not sure where you can get them as OH's dad is electrician and I expect they came from him. Any good electrical retailer should be able to supply them.0

Why not have a look on Ebay? I have just found some candle shaped energy saving bulbs with a screw fitting for my chandalier on there at a very reasonable price and it saves me going out and having to look for them!
Also do you live near Ikea? The light fittings that they sell are for screw bulbs and they do a large range of energy saving bulbs to go in them at very cheap prices. One tip though - don't even think of going near Ikea on a weekend - absolute chaos! They are open till late in the evening so go after work - a lot quieter, you can actually find a member of staff to help you, and there are no problems parking in either the main car park or in the collection bay (well this is my experience with the Leeds store anyway!) Oh, also forgot to mention that their meals/drinks are fab and very cheap so if you go afterwork you can make an evening of it and have dinner out too (I can recommend the meatballs, gravy and chips with loganberry sauce - yum yum!)MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Hi
http://www.yourwelcome.co.uk/acatalog/Compact_Flourescent.html
Your Welcome do BC and SBC, ES and SES fittings in all Wattage equivalents. I found these to be one of the only suppliers that do SES fitting (Small Edisson Screw)
Hope that helps

I got some of these recently and they are top notch. You can get them in ES and BC in both 7w (60w equivalent) and 18w (100w equivalent). I'll be getting some more tomorrow before they all disappear!
PS. Before I got these, I tried one from Poundland (@ £1) and it was !!!!!!. Low light levels and totally cold white colour.
Morrisons also have packs of 3 Pearl 7W ES and BC for £2.99 BOGF.0
