Virgin Media Upgrade

Hi.
Hopefully a quick question and also just seeing if anyone else is having problems.

I received an email couple of weeks ago highlighting my Virgin media broadband would be made better and faster etc and it was all fantastic.
I then received an email yesterday -

You might remember that we emailed you a little while ago to tell you about some upgrades to your Virgin Broadband. The good news is, it’s all done! Your improved broadband service is set up and ready to go.

All you need to do is turn off your modem or router, then turn it back on again, as soon as possible. That’ll get you reconnected to our network, and you’ll be able to start taking advantage of the improvements.

Did as above - no braodband connection. My router highlights that no ADSL Is available and cant connect.
I have a USB modem as well, so i plugged that in to the phone line etc and the ADSL light just flashed green (instead of a constant green light)
After several phone calls, hours of waiting and ringing virgin on a 0845 number they finaly said they would issue it as a faut and could take 5-7 days to rectify.

My initial thoughts are-

I was working on the intenet through my broadband connection for the last few years via virgin and no real problems, they upgrade it to make it better and it wont work...........!!!!!!

Also was wondering if anyone else out there has had similar problems particulary following the recent upgrade to a new and better service.................
Thanks for your help

Rebooting the modem 'as soon as possible' sounds like they were sending out a firmware/certificate 'upgrade' and obviously somethings not gone to plan mate.

If your modems a few years old, it may not fully support their roll-out, I would phone them again and complain higher up if you can, try and get the visit brought forward... and also tell them you expect a credit to your monthly account for every day you have no modem service from them.

    Thanks for that.
The final guy was helpful on the phone.
He had me taking off my BT plate inside the house and me plugging in my wireless router - to see if a ADSL was there and he aslo got me to plug in my Thompson 330( virgin provided) USB modem and still an error with the ADSL...........

But what a pain in the rear!!!!
