My friend has had to change lots of stuff for his catalogues, website etc and had had to pay extra people to do it for him as he did not have the time to do it all alone.
He heard that there is money available from the government to help him out, but would it be available to him for that sort of thing?
Can anyone help?

your post is not very clear as to what you mean... does your friend have his own small business? More information would be good...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Yes he owns his own business. A treatment room, and he sells via a catalogue and his website.
Sorry but that is just about all I know about it really. I told him I would put some feelers out for him0 -
Henry and Paula, just a thought here, but are you talking about the costs involved in the changing rate of VAT?Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? No, I think he is looking at money to help him for having to pay out extra to help him do extra work - Does that make sense??0

Yes that makes sense, i'll have some free money for doing extra work :j0 -
I know what you mean
But I think he might be confused by hearing that the government are willing to help out small businesses.0 -
Henry and Paula, its a bit hard without knowing exactly what your friend is looking for help with, however what I would suggest is that he gets in touch with his local business link who will probably be able to help.
If they follow this link:
http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/gsd%20&tc=000KW0240113687
They should see a box to put their postcode in, plus a column on the left hand side, one of the sections of which is 'Finance and Grants'.
Hopefully he will be able to find what he wants there. If not, perhaps you can find out a bit more about the specifics of his question and come back.
Good luck! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

The main thing I've heard (and as it's not directly relevant to me I may not have heard right!) is that small bizes now have longer to pay some of their taxes, and there's pressure on the banks not to be draconian with changing conditions of loans etc.
Nothing about giving money if you've had to pay someone to do some of your work. But businesslink will be well informed.

Hi All
I gave him the Biz link detaisl and told him to get on with it as he is slightly confused and has only told me half of what I should have known at the beginning.
Thanks for helping though:beer:0 -
Henry and Paula,
We're happy to help - if we can - we just need to understand the problem better.
Please suggest to your friend that he comes over and posts himself if he's still not sure, we'd love to help out its just we haven't worked out how yet...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
