I have recenlty wiped my laptp and begun from factory settings, because of this same problem. i have been able to use my iTunes perfectly fine, have put all my music back on it, and was playing music perfectly fine yesterday. BUT today whenever i try to open iTunes it comes up with an error report!
my antivirus is: AVG free antivirus
my antispyware is: microsoft antispyware beta edition
firewall is: Zone alarm
i currently run bearshare, but dont know if this maybe causing the problem, i have never had this problem before on past laptops though!
is anyone has any suggestions then i am happy to hear then because i need all the help i can get!
thanks

I had that with my girlfriends one. Is it iTunes that came ont he CD with the iPod?
I downloaded the new version from the apple website and it's fine.0 -
It is the one from the CD, but i updated it immediatly, when it asked me to.
According to the error report there is a problem with my Quicktime, it tells me that i need to uninstall it and then repair my iTunes, but when i try to uninstall this, it comes up with another window saying that a file is missing (i will type up what the message says at a later date becuase currently using a different computer) therefore meaning that the uninstallation has to close and does not complete!
i have emailed Apple about the problem but curently have not received a reply.
Firedog: i will post up what the error report for iTunes says at the weekend because currently do not have lapto to hand.

if this is any help the error message that appears when i try to open iTunes appears to be the same as the error message that you get when you force losure of a program if it stop responding.
Would it be a good idea if I were to wipe my laptop again and just install iTunes from the apple website? Because from everything that i ahve tried nothing seems to happen, i can uninstall iTunes but when i reinstall it the problem still occurs, even if i use the installation from the website, i believe this is because quicktime will not unistall!
please send any suggestions that you have with this problemNever knock on death's door, ring the doorbell and run away ..... he hates that :mad:0
