Hello, my first post to the weekly meal planner thread (bit late as I start mine on a Monday):
Friday - Pork escolope
Saturday - leftovers from fridge
Sunday - Roast Chicken
Monday - Left over chicken made into risotto
Tuesday - Lasagne (F)
Wednesday - Macaroni Cheese (going to try Champs recipe above)
Thursday - Shepherds Pie (F)
Can the Macaroni Cheese recipe be made, frozen and re-heated please?
And does anyone know a toad in the hole recipe that doesn't use sausages? What else could I replace the sausages with? Girls won't touch sausages! :-(0 -
DH has finally agreed to a mealplan this week. He used to say it was boring and predictable. So when I suggested the meals below to him last night and he said "That sounds good" it was a bit of a shock but a good one :j . Here's what we are having this week:
Today: HM stew with potato and carrot mash
Tuesday: HM lasagne
Wednesday: takeway curry
Thursday: spanish omelette with any veg I find lurking in the fridge (DH has a Christmas party)
Friday: Steak with mushroom sauce, chips, salad
Saturday: Going to panto with NCT friends & families and out for pizza afterwards
Sunday: Punjabi chicken with spinach (Anjum Anands recipe from the tv series)
Our takeway curry is free this week because our local curryhouse has a voucher scheme where you get a £15 meal free with 10 vouchers. Of course that means we have already spent a small fortune at this place but DH pays for that because he needs his weekly curry fix  .

sunset gold - I have never tried to freeze the macaroni cheese, because it always all gets eaten when I make it. I think you probably can as there is no cream in it that can separate on reheating or any other problem ingredient. Probably worth a try."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
Sunset Gold - you can freeze it but i tend to just have any leftovers for lunch the next day, not that i get many when OH hears its mac'n'cheese night!!!!!Nonny mouse and Proud!!

When my toddler was very young and I didn't want her having sausages, I made a version with pork meatballs and putting them straight into the tray raw as you would the sausages. I mixed some dried sage, and chopped dried apricots once as well, along with some white pepper and an egg into pork mince. I put wedges of onion into the batter alongside the meatballs too. It was a very nice dinner if I say so myselfLove and compassion to all x0 -

Well without sausages it's just batter, ie a big yorkshire pudding....a common meal is to make a big batter pudding like this then fill it with veg and gravy.
what is it that they dont like about sausages? would they eat veggie sausages, or a homemade alternative like lentil rissoles? or stuffing balls.....mmm i might try that myself, sounds nice!August grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
Hi sunset gold, I just Googled a vegetable toad in the hole recipe, it sounds nice though I confess that I haven't tried it."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
