have got tom tom nav5 on my medion mdpna 100 but cannot work out how to make it pick up a sat can anyone help bought this version from a mate before he moved abroad so really would like to try and get it going

go to change preferences, scroll along to show gps status. press configure.

you can either select tom tom wired receiver or other wired reciever or tom tom bluetooth reciever or other bluetooth receiver.

if using a non tom tom reciever (wired) set the baud rate to 4800, i think the com port is serial cable on com 1

cant remember what else is on their but post back if you still have no luck

do i need a sep reciever as as when i had nav man on it it used its internal gps

you have a medion mdpna 100 that had nav man on and worked fine when using it. you just lifted up the internal ariel reciever and it picked up satellites?

you have now put tom tom 5 on it and it cant find any satellites?

if this is right then go to show gps show gps status, configure, select other cable NMEA GPS, set baud rate to 4800 and pick serial cable on com 1.

hopefully this should work.

If not then its a case off playing with the settings and finding the correct one's to work.

a load of us at work bought the medions and put tomtom on but beware if you run the battery out and recharge the tomtom will have vanished and yiu have to reinstall
