New ID Makeovers..

My mum bought myself and my sister a makeover at the Burlington studio in B'ham. We had a nice day and we both decided that we would only have the free photo of us each at the end.

I knew it was the chaps job to try and sell us extra photos but I was very strong and was having none of it. That was until right at the end when he said we could have what was left of our pick on the screen for £25 on a CD rom.
This meant 5 pictures + our 2 free ones. I said Ok we will have those for £25

He asked for my debit card and put a payment through chip and pin. There ws no amount to see on the screen just enter pin.

He then passed me a form to sign, he carried on making small talk to me as he did this. I just by chance noticed he had written payment of £50 in the box.

I said to him hang on you said £25. To which he replied oh sorry I meant £25 each. He had put the payment through as £50 already before the form was shown to me. Unfortunately I was signing it as I noticed

I felt so uncomfortable and conned by this. I was basically told payment put through and that was that.

There C/services are not open till Monday. I will ring to complain.

I am guessing that this was not a deliberate attempt to con you out of your money but instead a simple mis-understanding. You should have refused there and then (or tried to negotiate another tenner off). If something can go through on chip'n'pin then it can also be reversed. I have to admit to always confirming the amount before entering my PIN number (either on the little screen or verbally (if it is not shown))
