Indesit W1121 Washing Machine Help... Please

Hi Folks

We bought this Indesit W1121 (I'm guessing thats the model, cos of the number written on it???) about 4 years ago. Its been great up until about a week ago. I noticed that if the machine isnt in use the bottom of the drum has a small amount of water.

Before I wash anything I just stick it on the drain cycle first and then put it onto wash. There isnt any excess water in the drum when the cycle finishes.

My hubby is saying 'just buy another'..... but after doing a bit of research on here;) , I think it could be the pump?? If it is the pump, can anyone help with, how do I locate the pump, how do I remove it and if its goosed, where do I buy a new one??

Sorry for all the questions:eek: .

Ohh yeah, if I have it totally wrong and its not the pump what else do you think it could be?
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

  • Hi

Does your Indesit have a drain filter? If so does this need emptying? It is usually behind a panel at the bottom of the machine, they get blocked with lint from clothes, buttons, coins and anything else that gets left in clothes pockets!! If it is blocked your machine will struggle to empty and it won't do the pump any good as it will be working extra hard against the blockage to get rid of the water.

    Hope this helps.
  • Yay!!! I fixed it, thank you!!!:j

It was a coin. I didnt know about the kick panel and the drain filter being behind that. Just put the quick wash cycle on and no signs of a leak, yet, so I think I have just saved my hubby a couple of hundred from buying a new one:D

How, please, does one access the filter on the W1121? Is it at the front? If so, the panel at the bottom is proving difficult to remove - any tricks, please?

    RTFM?
If you don't have one, there is a link to 'Drain Pump Cleaning' PDF on this page once you select 'laundry' under products.
