Fund transfer time changed from 3 days to 7 days

We have both our girls at Uni, one is in her 3rd year at Edinburgh and the second is a fresher in Liverpool. Both have Natwest Student accounts.
For the past two and a bit years, daughter in Edinburgh got paid her weekly allowance by weekly transfer from our Barclay's Bank account onto her Natwest Student account (she gets the free rail pass). Over this period of time, the transfers always reached her Natwest account. within 3 days max.
When we started doing the same with Liverpool in September, the transfer time was also 3 days. About 2 weeks ago, we got a panic call from Liverpool saying that money had not reached her Natwest account. Calls to Natwest who confirmed that if money had been transferred, money would have been credited within 3 days.....In fact, the transfer took 7 days to reach her Natwest account. Natwest telling us that fault was with Barclays.
At just about the same time, daughter in Edinburgh told us the same was happening to her money.
Barclays have now written to me confirming that transfer leaves our account as usual and fault lies with Natwest who would "apparently" sit on it for some time.
I feel like taking this matter to the Press. Please advise.

Have a look on your statement to see when it left yours account. If it did on the day then its more than likley Natwests fault.
Don't go to the press, we get enough idiots listening to the papers and making the banking crisis worse, and they all come on here asking stupid questions
Whats happened with later payments? Has it gone back to 3 days or is it still at 7 days?
p.s. if you do go to the press I will personally come and slap you0 -
To be honest, I doubt the press would care about what is a relatively insignificant and minor problem of some unknown bank customer. Sorry, but that's just not what you read in the pages of The Times or the Telegraph etc.
There is no payment system that takes 7 days to credit an account. The day that shows on the statement is the day it left Barclays. Are you sure you're using the right names on the payments and nothing that would cause it to be referred? What would William Shatner do?0 -

Well in the case of transfer to Edinburgh, it has been going on smoothly for more than 2 years. Credit crunch arrives and suddenly 3 days become 7 days. No mistake here and funds leave Barclays on the due date.....only get credited on Natwest account 7 days later.
My reason behind going to the Press (slap me please) is to react against Natwest Liverpool branch manager's comments when he hides behind a very poor excuse that fault lies with Barclays when it does not.0
