My head of ops in London was a "walk in from the street with a CV in his hand" guy.

He dropped of his CV and called on the phone every week thereafter. He also popped in whenever he passed and handed in a updated CV (with new courses he had been on).

3 years later he is the highest paid member of staff in my company.

    IMO get yourself out there.

Blanket bomb potential employers with your CV and attitude.

It only takes one bite and your there.

Just looked at asda - nearest asda job is 46 miles away and its a manager job - no good. none at tesco near me - none at netto (theve just finished recruiting) - went on aldi website and have to go into the store :) will do that tomorrow. i think i will get dressed up first thing in the morning and have an outdoor job hunt :).

There arnt many jobs where i live most people i know are being or have been finished, my son has told me ALL of the agency staff at his place are being finished, over 150 of them.

try sainsburys website as all theyre recruitment is online so its pointless going into the store, that is if you have a sainsburys near you,

I used to work in recruitment and used to work in HR. My company used to get a lot of "walk ins" - basically people who had popped in looking for work and dropping their c.v. in. Some of them were called back for interview and some got offered jobs, certainly worth a try.

Trouble is, many companies have already done their recruiting for Xmas - they often start in September.

Lidl recruit quite a lot so I am told, so it may be worth popping into Lidl if you have one near you, or check out their website and download an application form.

    Good luck.
