Recommendations for car for 3 children?
We've got a vauxhall meriva at the moment with our 2 kids but are planning for a third which we could fit in our current car but would like to change to an automatic but don't want to go too big. Not sure on budget, mid range i think, depends what we get for ours. Hubby fancies a mondeo, any other suggestions would be great

Keep your current car at the moment and wait 6 months at least. This economic downturn will turn very nasty after Xmas.
Mondeos are very safe and good value and I imagine you will get a good deal but that will be offset by what I imagine you will consider a shocking offer on your current car.0 -
Not many auto Mondeo's about. how about a honda Accord Tourer auto?0

With 3 kids you might be glad of extra boot space .. I have a Zafira which of course has that huge boot space and the two extra seats... it honestly doesn't feel like a big car when you drive it and I love the higher driving position.. my grandkids love to seat right in the back in the two hidden seats...its economical too and the prices aren't bad.. not very good to look at but very practical for families#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

When I had my 3rd child I got a Citroen Picasso as we didnt need any extra seats just a bit more width in the back. We were driving an Astra at the time and with 3 car seats in the back everytime I closed the doors the kids got whiplash as the 3 seats banged off each other!Live on a little over £4k challenge

We have an S-Max, it has 2 extra seats in the back which come in handy if an extra adult comes out with us and the 3 children. It also has a good safety rating. It has a fair sized boot and has 3 proper seats in the rear that will fit child seats either by belt or isofix fittings.0

We have a Nissan Almera Tino (model before the Quashquai) and it is fab for 3 kids with a big boot. Whilst it only has 5 seats, it has 3 proper seats in the back - something saloon cars don't seem to have. It is a compact MPV.0

also some auto options about on the used market0 -
Thanks for your replies so far. Went and had a really quick look and found a mondeo and a vectra in 2 different garages, one of which is shutting down 9th of Jan so may see what each one has to offer...0
