Switching to Lloyds TSB

I'm looking to switch my account to from Alliance and Leicester to Lloyds.

Anyone know of any promotional codes or promotions they have on at the moment?

Comments

  • They dont have any promos at the moment, but i have just recently gone from A&L to Lloyds TSB and would recommend them.

I know there not everyones cup of tea but after the horrendous problems i had with A&L and the fact there now part of Santander i figured Lloyds couldnt be any worse.

Just out of interest, why did you both move from A&L?

They do have discounts on their fee paying accounts, upto about £8 off. I think you have to do that in branch.

I moved to them from Nationwide about 8 months ago, a couple of hiccups.... nothing to bad, made £70 out of them. Customer Service is good, on-line banking a bit slow but very easy to use. To be honest I would recommend. I do understand they are strict on their credit scoring so if you have had problems you might not get the main current accounts (as with any bank I suppose)

I have found the fee paying accounts good value if you use all the facilities which I do (Premier) as you get a lot of stuff for your dollar.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

    Any takers here?

I'm with the A&L, and just wonder why you both left? And what advantages Lloyds TSB has over A&L?

Personally the customer service is a bit better, I looked around and was tempted my the A&L offerings, but the staff seemed to have a 'can't be bothered today' attitude. Maybe just a one off, but when you are purchasing something you don't go back!

Ive not used A&L however I have natwest, lloyds tsb and used to have barclays accounts, i only now have lloyds tsb and natwest. In terms of customer service natwest and ltsb rule, they are very polite and casual, get things done straight away, most of their staff are really experienced, unlike Barclays birds who have just flown the nest. Also natwest and ltsb online banking is perfect, very fast and you dont even have to use them card readers to log in. :D
  • Hi, just something for you to think about with Lloysds. I am with them now but moving to Barclays. This is because I have just been charged £200 for being overdrawn for just 10 days...... yes 10 days, thats £20 per day!! on top of that I have a Lloyds Credit Card if I dont make/mis a payment then they take the payment out of you bank account without warning. Just thought you should know this before you leap them.

Is that an unauthorised overdraft though?
