Booking Flights to Europe for August '09

Hi,
I'm looking to book flights for a group holiday in August '09. Does anyone know when the budget airlines start offering cheaper flights for this time? how many months in advance do they release cheap flights?

thanks

Depends on the day of the week and the popularity of the route, if it is a Saturday on a popular route the prices don't fall.

I booked my May half-term flights with Easyjet the day they were released a couple of weeks ago. The price has since gone up by 50% if I were to book today (would cost hundreds more pounds)

I think the Easyjet August flights are already available, and this is also school holiday time so the prices will be going up rather than down.... so I would start trawling the websites now!

    Good luck!

(We are flying on a Saturday though... might be different for mid-week :o )
  • we are flying on a thursday and returning sunday (6th-9th). its supposed to be a mystery holiday for 13 of us so the destination can be flexible - we (the organisers have to pick somewhere, preferably cheap!)

  • our trip has now been the latest victim of the credit crunch! an email asking for a pre-payment/deposit led to half the group pulling out so we now wont be going abroad :(
    thnks for your help anyway.
