Are you still paying BT for Caller Display?

Quite a few people are still paying making BT lots of wonga. See this article in todays
Daily Mail :http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=373447&in_page_id=1770

Make sure you dont pay a penny more then you need to register for BT Privacy which includes free caller display. See http://shop.bt.com/page/btprivacyfaq

If you have CPS your calls you still qualify.Just put a couple of calls a quarter through BT using 1280 override.NGN calls at E&W are best as Bt are cheapest E&W supplier of these type of calls.

My concern as a TalkTalk customer is what happens if I don't make any calls using their 1280 override?

Do they turn off the caller display, or charge the £5.25 for the quarter?
    Nice to save.
  • Many thanks for that, i had no idea it was now a free service, you have just saved me £5.25 per quarter which is much better in my pocket than theres.

Stop worrying about it,and make just one call a quarter its not a lot to ask. Just a short call (5p min call charge) will suffice.

I order my weekly takeaway just after 6pm each Friday using the 1280 prefix.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Automated system - calling cancels the paid for Caller Display on your account and activates the free version. You also get the option to sign up for TPS at the same time.
