Hi
This is my first ever thread on MSE.com so got my fingers crossed that someone can help.
I have come to the point in my life where I need to do something with it before its too late. I have been thinking about returning to uni but guess it all depends on moeny.
I am a single mum working 2 days a week. I get some Tax credits, some housing and benefit...basically just about make ends meet...not all the time though!
So going to uni again would be crazy if I dont get financial help.
When I say again...I completed 2 years (didnt pass second year though, so officially only completed 1 year) and have 2 years worth of student loan, of which only pittance has been paid back as I have never earnt enough for it to be taken out my wages.
So, a few questions...
is there financial help for me?
will my benefits be affected?
does that fact i have a SL already mean I cant get another?
I just dont know where to start with looking into this!
Any help really appreicated
Thanks

Generally speaking, there is a total of four years full time funding available, so you'd have two years left.
They tend to fund the latter years so you'd not get anything for the first year, except the maintenance loan, as far as I am aware.
However, if you can argue, and prove, you had a genuine reason for dropping out, they may be willing to fund you again.
Failing that, are you wanting to do the same degree? As maybe you could start in the second year?
Welcome to mse btw!0
