New Year Lakes/Peaks/anywhere nice!

I would like to treat my sister to 3 nights away from the 30th Dec as a treat for her tough year.... We aint got a lot of cash (who has) and I really dont know where to go. I thought a pub b&b would be ok as we wont have to venture out, but I have had a couple of quotes from the Lakes at about £200 which is way beyond my budget. Has anyone got any suggestions or knows where I can look. Many thanks

  • The Innkeepers Lodge chain has some offers on.

Although I haven't stayed there, their 'Sheffield South/Peak District' lodge looks to be in a good location for outdoors stuff.

It is new year at the time so you will find people wanting more money -staff etc or smaller places will think lets make it worthwhile but top marks for thinking of your sis thats what familys are for esp around xmas.

  • Hello,

Have you checked out sites like holidaylettings.co.uk? I think they have some B&Bs on there but mainly it's self catering, which will save you money. You can also do a budget search, so you won't even see anything that's not within your budget. Their Late Deals section is pretty good too.

Hope you find something soon and have a lovely trip with your sister.

Stumbled on this place 5 years ago and we go back every year, High Wray Farm in the Lakes - http://www.highwrayfarm.co.uk - very friendly and great breakfasts. It is very popular though, so it would take some luck to get in there with just a few weeks to go.
  • We have recently spent five nights here http://www.choice-hotels.co.uk/patterdale/index.php Excellent value for money on their weekend or midweek breaks. However, as others have said, hotels do increase their prices over the New Year period. Hope you find somewhere nice within your budget.
