Washing machine and cold water pipe only

I have a brother (yes he is real, honest) he is living in rented property. Anyway he wants to get washing machine but the only place he can put it has cold water pipe only. I do know that most new machines are cold fill anway way.
But he would getting a second hand one begged, borrowed or maybe even bought. So it will have both hot and cold feeds on the back. Is there any sort of adaptor that he can buy that will allow him to use only the one pipe.
I don't know much about machines and this maybe a big bird question. Thanks in advance.

Yes, he'll need a Y-piece, available at plumbers merchants and DIY shops, then the cold will be split to feed both inlets.0

I thought that was what he needed and I showed that one to my husband and he said no that is not what he wants.
My husband is a prat and I will not listen to him again :rotfl:
