  • It should be noted that the Pockit card will be charging 99p per transfer from a debit card to the Pockit card from the 1st February 2017 and this can be found in the Pockit Cardholder Terms and Conditions (not to be confused with the Pockit Website Terms and Conditions).
  • Stay away from the Easyjet prepaid currency card. I applied online, was told I needed to send scanned passport to verify identity, which was done same day, snd then received registration confirmation telling me all was fine and card would be received shortly.

Two chase up calls in the following two weeks told me that the standard delivery time was 7-10 working days after application, and to call back after that.

Called on the 11th day to be told by a very rude call centre member that my application had been cancelled due to not supplying my proof of ID! When I challenged and corrected him on this, he put the phone down on me!

This would have left me with no currency card only 3 days away from a 3 month trip abroad! Thankfully, I had also applied for a Revolut card as back-up with whom I managed to get an account opened same day, with my physical card arriving only two days later.

All in all, very poor service from Easyjet card services.

But very fortunate for you, enabling your escape from using a terrible value card and to get Revolut instead. Using your bank debit card abroad would probably cost less than the easyJet card.

Old news for those of us who already have a Pockit card: They gave existing card holders advance notice of the change by email on 03 Dec ember 2016.

A very bad idea to have a prepaid card as a back-up for a prepaid card. Usually we take our bank debit card or credit card and hope we don't have to use it because a bank has guarantees which no prepaid card has.

Regardless of what Pockit may say, it's not instant and may be updated in the online account by the next day or longer. I'd say test it by using it.

For example when I upgraded to the new contactless card I got a new account in the online account interface and both accounts existed at the same time for two days with everything done on the new card appearing in the old account. Then the old account was removed and everything was in the new account.

    Rome wasn't built in a day ...

I have had a POCKIT card for several years without problems.

I recently used my debit card to try to load some funds on to my POCKIT card, something which I have done many times before without a problem.
No funds were added to my POCKIT card but the money was taken from my bank account.
Trying to get POCKIT to sort this out is not easy and the money is still missing after 3 weeks, even after supplying the requested proof.
Searching on line reveals that I am not the only one having this problem.
They don't always answer the help emails and ringing them is a lottery on whether they answer.
Cashback is now taking a lot longer before it is being paid.

If you are thinking of having a POCKIT card, don't, its not worth the hassle.

Did you try asking your bank for 'chargeback'?
