i have microsoft critical updates on automatic updates and after reading advice on this forum dowloaded there antispyare and avg free.
avg found three viruses on first scan and put in virus vault does this mean it has got rid of them or do i need to delete them from vault.
also when i connected this morning critical update from microsft came through and when finished it restarted my comp and i found i was unable to open any applications in avg it gave a box that said
Cannot initialize avg anti virus kernal interface application cannot run
i switched off my comp and then re started avg was back so i ran a scan and it found downloader trojan horse agent aye c:\acdf.exe which is now in vault.
i went back on line one hour later and ran another scan and virus found trojan horse downloader c:\system volume information\restore and a load of numbers . any advice for a novice what these are and did they affect running of avg and is my comp safe. thanks in advance

as that is where it seems to be hiding
