Just thought I would let you know of a lovely thing that happened to me today!
Back in February, I had to give my 7 month old puppy to a rescue home as due to a change of circumstances with my family, nothing really bad but my husband had to take job away from home as he was made redundant, was unable to give him everything that he needed and felt I was doing him an injustice. I had had him from 8 weeks and to say that it broke my heart is putting it mildly, I pined and cried for weeks so did my little boy, I even tried to get him back, but he had been rehomed within hours.
Today I have come home to find a christmas card from him and his new owners, telling me how he is and what he is up to. To say that I am over the moon is putting it mildly, I now know that I made the right decision for him back in February and although its tough to let go, I don't need to keep on wondering what happened to him and if his new owners are good kind people. The answers where all there in the card and letter that they so kindly sent to us. They don't live too far away and said I can visit anytime, however, I don't want to distrub him (even though he may have forgot me and my boy) or upset myself so I will just have a look from afar one day soon. Just thought I would post this as a cheery note. k

My two dogs always send a Christmas card and photo to their 'human' birth mummy. I'm sure she likes to know they are happy.
It's good that you did the best thing for the dog and he's happy.

Aww how lovely

That's made me think I will have to help Spot Dog send a Christmas card to her last family (they emigrated).... even though we keep in touch on facebook, a card signed with a pawprint will make them smile I reckon
Thanks for sharing
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

My ill-mannered little imps have never in their lives managed to put pen to paper and send cards to their rescuers. Humph!! They are going to change their ways this year. However I did have some kitties in the past who used to send Christmas cards to next door's cats every year and without fail they always got one back. (We've all moved house now...it's not so friendly round here, just a rough mutt next door who growls at everybody and everykitty).0

Oh that's nice jpmummy - some nice people in the world.
Glad we are not the only ones putting paw prints on our cards (see from the picture why)...0 -
We kept in touch with the man that we got our two boys (cats) off. I send him pictures every few months and he really appreciates it. He intended to keep them, so he was quite sad to see them go. I like him to know that they're very happy and very much loved!0
